Description
- Infrared Sensors: Line tracking modules usually have infrared sensors that can detect the reflectivity of a surface. Dark lines on a lighter background or vice versa create a contrast that the sensors can recognize.
- Channels: The number of channels corresponds to the number of sensors or detectors on the module. Each channel is essentially a separate sensor. Multiple channels allow the module to make more detailed observations about the line and its position relative to the robot.
- Data Processing: The data from the sensors are processed to determine the position of the line. Based on the readings from different channels, the system can adjust the movement of the robot to keep it following the line.
- Control Signals: The processed data is used to generate control signals for the motors or actuators of the robot. These signals adjust the movement of the robot to keep it on the desired path.
