Description

The HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor, also known as the HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Range Finder, is a module that provides non-contact measurement capabilities, ranging from 2cm to 400cm with an accuracy of 3mm. It utilizes sonar technology, similar to bats or dolphins, to determine the distance to an object. The sensor package includes ultrasonic transmitters, a receiver, and a control circuit.

This sensor offers reliable and accurate range detection without the need for physical contact, making it suitable for various applications. It can measure distances from 2cm to 400cm (or approximately 1″ to 13 feet) with stable readings and high precision. Unlike Sharp rangefinders, the HC-SR04 is not affected by sunlight or the color of objects (although it may have difficulty detecting acoustically soft materials like cloth). It is designed for easy integration with microcontrollers such as Arduino Uno R3, Microchip PIC, and ST Microcontrollers.
